GUSGUS VS. T-WORLD - Russian Bootleg

HEY THERE, HUMMERS! If you've taken even 20 seconds to glance at my previous posts, you'll see that I am no stranger to the music of Iceland's legendary electronic band, GusGus. Here is a missing piece of the gg puzzle: a very rare Russian bootleg release of the 2000 album, GusGus vs. T-World, containing 4 extra tracks that, to my knowledge, are only available on this specific release. I don't know much about these bonus tracks, as not much information exists on this bootleg from pirate label, Halahup. I'm not sure if they were written around the same time as the rest of the tracks on this album, or what are their backstories - all I know is that I am happy to have them, and hopefully now you will be too!

* I have a slight suspicion that these "bonus tracks" may not even be GusGus at all. There are moments that sound like it might, could possibly be, but altogether it doesn't really fit the bill with anything else they've recorded. Further suspicion stems from the fact that Halhaup had also released this ridiculous bootleg, which features images of an entirely different band, not only on the cover, but inside the booklet as well. If ANYONE has any real information on these tracks, it would be greatly appreciated if you clued me in down in the comments section below! Either way, as an oddball in the GusGus universe, I'm allowing it to stay.

Taking a break from the classic Goa/psytrance releases for a spell, I thought I'd update the links for this excellent trio of ambient/dub/downtempo compilations from Planet Dog Records. Featuring many Planet Dog regulars, such as Eat Static, Banco de Gaia, Children of the Bong, and more, each of these compilations is a bliss and a half.

I do realize there is a 4th volume in this series, but at the time of my original posting (February 29, 2008) I was not aware of this. I have yet to get my wings around a copy, but now that it's fresh in my mind, perhaps I will seek it out and add it to the feeder..

I am super-duper happy to be able to share this one with you! This is an extremely rare album from electronic music legends, Juno Reactor!

This album consists of one 60 minute ambient/noise track. If you are expecting one of J.R.'s famous, dance-friendly electronic orchestra albums, you are going to be sorely mistaken. I have played this for some die-hard Juno Reactor fans, and almost all of them were completely crestfallen.

BUT, I think that if you are forewarned that this is a 100% ambient album, and go about listening to it with an open mind, I think you will really like this! This is EASILY my favorite Juno Reactor album, and I have them all! This is friggin' great for late late nights, when you're out of your gourd, lying on your back staring up at the stars or the ceiling. It can be very moving!
