GUSGUS VS. T-WORLD - Russian Bootleg

HEY THERE, HUMMERS! If you've taken even 20 seconds to glance at my previous posts, you'll see that I am no stranger to the music of Iceland's legendary electronic band, GusGus. Here is a missing piece of the gg puzzle: a very rare Russian bootleg release of the 2000 album, GusGus vs. T-World, containing 4 extra tracks that, to my knowledge, are only available on this specific release. I don't know much about these bonus tracks, as not much information exists on this bootleg from pirate label, Halahup. I'm not sure if they were written around the same time as the rest of the tracks on this album, or what are their backstories - all I know is that I am happy to have them, and hopefully now you will be too!

* I have a slight suspicion that these "bonus tracks" may not even be GusGus at all. There are moments that sound like it might, could possibly be, but altogether it doesn't really fit the bill with anything else they've recorded. Further suspicion stems from the fact that Halhaup had also released this ridiculous bootleg, which features images of an entirely different band, not only on the cover, but inside the booklet as well. If ANYONE has any real information on these tracks, it would be greatly appreciated if you clued me in down in the comments section below! Either way, as an oddball in the GusGus universe, I'm allowing it to stay.

GUSGUS VS. T-WORLD - RUSSIAN BOOTLEG (2000)

GUSGUS - EXTRA STUFF - VOL. 1 - 6

HEY BIRDIES - do I have a post for you! Here are 6 volumes of rare, remixed, unreleased and unfinished tracks and remixes by Iceland's wonderful electronic outfit, GusGus! Each volume spans the GusGus timeline, from early to present days, and runs anywhere between 2.5 - 5 hours, with an estimated total time of 26 hours! None of these tracks can be found on any of the band's studio albums, and many have never even been officially released to the public!

If you are a GusGus fan, you are certain to find more than a mouthful in each volume. These are compilations I had made over the years for my own enjoyment, and I figured it was time to drop them into the feeder for you all to enjoy! So please, do ENJOY! Please feel free to leave a comment if you do.

(I have enough for more volumes, and when I can find the time, I will get around to compiling them and posting them here.)

GUSGUS - 30 Licks To The Gooey Center (NEW LINK!)

*Original Post: May 18, 2008 -- OK, so rather than post GusGus single after GusGus single, I am going to combine them into one really fabu package!

What we have here are remixes and b-sides from the new GG lineup. Tracks 1 through 8 are remixes from the album "Attention" from 2002. Tracks 9 and 10 are really great b-sides, while track 13 is from former frontman Daniel Agust's solo album "Swallowed A Star" from 2005. Track 12 is a 2 + 1/2 minute interview with the new GG! Then the rest are all remixes from their newest album, "Forever" from 2007. Track 11 is my personal favorite track off of that album. :o)

I really hope you all enjoy this! If you check this out, let me know what you think of it - even if you hate it.

(original post: August 31, 2008 @ 10:50 PM)

Here is the incredible self-titled debut from another of my (obviously) favorite bands in the world, GusGus! This came two years before their "Polydistortion" album, and although the track listing has all of the same songs, they are almost completely different versions (with the exception of 'Why?', 'Believe', 'Remembrance', 'Jesus' and 'Purple'). And really awesome versions, for that matter. This is next to impossible to find on cd or vinyl, but here it is in glorious 320 kbps, just for you!

GUSGUS - Mix @ Respect - Live at Queen, Paris, March 17, 1999

GUSGUS - Mix @ Respect - Live at Queen, Paris, March 17, 1999

Here's an interesting piece of the GusGus legacy: a live 45-minute DJ set that consists of instrumental versions of Believe, Acid and LActic Milk, among others. This is quite good, especially if you turn it up really loud and move your body along with it. Pretty hard to find, I had this posted in the "This Is Normal Singles" post back in 2008 (never fear, most of my GusGus posts will return very soon, along with some new ones that will make your eyes fall out of their sockets) in 192 kbps bit rate, but here's a much cleaner 320 kbps version to stick your beak into!

I randomly found this while surfing online one day, and I about shat myself when I listened to it. This is absolutely amazing! GusGus put on a hell of a show in their early days (actually, they still do)! Every song in this live set is top notch, in my opinion. Enjoy!

This track was used in a Levi's jeans commercial and was released as a promo CD for a very brief moment in time. It is essentially an 11-minute, instrumental remix of the song 'Acid Milk', which appeared on the 1999 album "This is Normal". I really like this track - it gets into your head, and it's easy to dance to. Turn the volume up really loud and get to it!
